After a very refreshing two day break with some of the other officers, I found myself in Hackensack, Minnesota at Deep Portage Conservation Reserve for the first of two state conferences in Minnesota. Monday morning came much more rapidly than I would have ever expected. As members arrived I was thrilled to begin a week of fun, inspiration, learning, and personal growth.
Katie and I started off the conference with a session about rules and regulations. Later that night members were able to learn more about each other by sharing their "Me-in-a-box," which told about them personally. This was one of my favorite parts of camp because I enjoy meeting new people. Later that night my small group, (Tennis) lost in the volleyball tournament, which was quite depressing. Cabin Chats were my favorite part of camp. All of the members in my two rooms were well behaved and really grew throughout the week. This was a time for us all to really get to know a select group of people. I'll never forget everyone in my room! My room is below!
As the week went on members and officers were able to learn more about each other. I know that I am over excited about keeping in contact with some of my new friends that I met at SGLC.
SGLC was a huge success with 132 members in attendance. We hope to see a full load at SLCCL!
