I have been blessed with many opportunities this year, but never did I think that I would have the opportunity to be part of history in Minnesota. As Minnesota held the 2008 Republican National Convention this year, I had a chance to be a part of it. Tuesday, September 2nd was Ag Night, put on by the Minnesota Agri-Growth Council. Fellow officers Caitlin, Katie, Sydney, and Pete, along with Brad Lanoue and I were very fortunate to attend this event.
As we entered the Ag Night on the red carpet we were immediately surrounded by many, if not nearly all of the leaders in agriculture in Minnesota. It was great to reconnect with people like Kevin Papp, Julie Tesch, Sheryl Meshke, and many others. Something else that was exciting were the connections that FFA was able to make with companies that are not as involved with the FFA. As the night wrapped up and we ate our pork chop on a stick, we could only remember this amazing event that we had the chance to be a part of.
Stationed by the Rising Sun,
Derek

Derek-
We were glad to have the Minnesota FFA Association represented at AgNite, a nonpartisan celebration of America's food and agriculture industry.
I thought I'd share this with you and your members -- two of your fellow members were featured in a fun, mini-tv segment with the Polichicks (FM107.1) - on KSTP.
Follow this link and click on the segment on Minnesota agriculture.

Great work! We appreciate the leadership your team offers, serving as great role models and spokespeople for the next generation of food/ag industry leaders.
